Hung Fuk Yuen Fire – Manchester Memorial Gathering (6 December)
We, along with the Hong Kong community, are deeply saddened by the devastating fire at Hung Fuk Yuen. This sudden tragedy has taken numerous lives and left many families without homes and loved ones. As Hongkongers living in the UK, we share the same grief and heartbreak. To honour the victims and support one another through this difficult time, NWCC will hold a memorial gathering in Manchester.
📅 Date|Saturday, 6 December 2025
🕕 Time|10:00am – 12:30pm
📍 Venue|St Michael’s Church, 112 Townley St, Middleton, Manchester M24 1BT
A remembrance corner will be set up on-site, where participants may freely express their condolences and thoughts through:
• Lighting a candle
• Folding paper cranes (you may fold them on-site or bring them already folded)
• Writing messages of blessing or condolence
• Silent prayer or quiet reflection
Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of religious background, to mourn together and support one another.
May the departed rest in peace, the injured recover, and those who lost their homes find stability soon. We hope the truth will be clarified, responsibility be duly pursued, and that society can learn from this pain so such tragedies will not happen again.
